This is a highly student-centred course, whose main purpose is to improve English majors’ listening and speaking skills. It encourages the students to identify their own weaknesses and to develop their own learning strategies as they do intensive listening and speaking practices both in class and at home. At the beginning of each week one or two listening strategies will be introduced, and then the students will work on an assigned clip at their own pace. After checking their answers and reflecting on their own performance, the students will have to do extra practices on their own. Individual consultation on pronunciation, intonation, and grammar will be given to each student by turns.
